About this object
Coaches played an important part in Australia's transport and communication history. This thorough-brace coach was used to transport mail and passengers in northern New South Wales. It also has a rich connection to the silver screen. The coach may have been made by the Cobb & Co. coachworks at their Charleville or Bathurst factory, but it is hard to be sure, especially given the prevalence of local coach-builders who proliferated in the latter part of the 19th century.
